~~ Click on the above and below images for a bigger view ~~

Hello guys,

issue 6 of GARRISON is out today and it's the explosive conclusion of this rollercoaster thrilling fun :)
To celebrate I thought to share some concept art I did for the F83 Whisperfighter (airplanes featured in this issue and invented by mastermind Jeff Mariotte) , as you can see above :)
And below is an unused cover art which still is enough cool looking to share I think ;)

A big THANKS to all of you who supported this book by buying it and a huge thanks to the WildStorm folks who have been fantastic to work with on this mini: I am gonna miss them greatly.
I raise my glass in a toast to all of you.

CHeers,
Francesco

Here's WildStorm solicitation for the issue:

This is it! The slam-bang conclusion to the action epic of the year! Garrison and Jillian are trapped in a small town, and after they're finished with it, it will never be the same! Neither will the hundreds of soldiers out to get Garrison. And neither will Garrison himself – if he can even survive!

More sneak peek at issue 5 of GARRISON - out tomorrow - and one more sample of Jeff Mariotte's magic skills: the whole exchange between Lester and Jillian in this sequence (on these 2 pages and on the next ones) is one of my favorite things of this whole run :)

Francesco

Well, it actually is, despite Agent Bracewell's line ;)

issue 5 of GARRISON will be out this week and is the penultimate issue of this co-creator mini of mine: hence the "personal" thing above :)
I hope you guys have been reading this becuase the last 2 issues are gonna be even more fun to enjoy. In this specific issue there are a couple of the best sequences I have drawn for the whole mini, and some of the favorite moments of the story. Tune in tomorrow for more :)

STAN LEE's How To Draw Comics

~~ click on the image for bigger views ~~

Hello guys,

I am so happy to finally be able to reveal this sweet little gig I did a few months back. I was asked to draw a wraparound cover for the limited Hardcover edition of Stan Lee's new "How To Draw Comics".

STAN LEE!
The MAN!!!

I don't know what else to say... maybe "'nuff said"? :D

The Hardcover is published by Random House in collaboration with Dynamic Forces, has 224 pages, will be available in November and it will retail for $75. I think a paperback version will be available as well (I didn't do the cover for it though ;))

Cheers,
Francesco

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

~~ click on the image for bigger views ~~

Hello guys,

now that the series has been announced at SDCC this past week, I can finally reveal that I was lucky to be invited by dear friend and director Steve Gordon to do some storyboards on MARVEL's "THE AVENGERS: Earth's Mightiest Heroes " animated series. This gave me the chance to draw THOR (below is a teaser from the boards I did) and company and I enjoyed it quite a bit :)

Wil make sure to give more updates when the show is on air.

Meanwhile here's the link to the trailer they released in SD.

Cheers,
Francesco

C'mon, does this image alone make you wish you had joined already? ;)
Sorry if it took so long to post my 6th piece but work and life kinda got in the way ;)
I am gonna to announce the two runnerups later this week and also post the final version of the silhuetted robots print that will go to the runner-ups and to the winner from last week (Casey).
Of course that print, as every other Giant RObot Week poster here, is available for purchase as well. Just email me if interested.

Until then, hope you enjoy today's offering :)

Cheers,
Francesco

GUNDAM!

~~ click on the image for giant ROBOT view ~~

I hope you will allow me to go down Nostalgia Lane for Day 4 of Giant Robot Week :)
One of my fave robot show has always been GUNDAM, and not just for some of the coolest robot designs around, but also for the realism of the stories: a really good and well thought show, hands down.
And speaking of Gundam and nostalgia, here's an acrylic painting I did 17 (!) years ago: man, do I feel old...

Hope you dig it the same, even if an "ancient" piece of art ;)

Cheers,
Francesco
