Doctor WHO - Nightmare in Silver [Ep.7.13] ~ The Crimson Horror [Ep.7.12]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hello everyone,
Since I missed to post it in the last 2 weeks, you get another double DOCTOR WHO art today!

Above is NIGHTMARE IN SILVER aired on BBC America last week and written by Neil Gaiman, and below THE CRIMSON HORROR, aired  2 weeks ago (I was out of town for FCBD) and a rare case where I thought I needed to use a color instead to go plain B/W as usual.
Hope you guys enjoy 'em :)

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hi everyone,

here's this week's Doctor Who episode poster for "Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS".

I think this might be my new favorite poster yet: it came out kinda Twilight-Zoney, which I love :)
I hope you dig it too :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor WHO - Hide [Ep.7.10]

Hi everyone,

here's the latest Doctor Who poster for this week's "ghostly" episode.
Beijng a huge fam of HORROR, I really enjoyed the Poltergeist/Haunted Mansion vibe of the episode.

Doctor Who needs more Horror! (Weeping Angels anyone? ;))

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor Who ~ "The Bells of Saint John" [Ep.7.07]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hello everyone,
DOCTOR WHO is back! YAY!

Here's the poster I did last night right after watching THE BELLS OF SAINT JOHN. As usual I tried to keep it as much spoiler-free as I could :)
And I think it's not a spoiler if I say the new Companion, CLARA, might be the cutest one yet ;)

Also, the wi-fi name that appear at the beginning of the episodes was looking kinda familiar, so I moved the symbols around a bit and it looks to me like the name was the anagram for MOFFAT: am I seeing too much here? ;)

And - in preparation of the new episodes - I put together this little WHOmnibus compilation of the posters for Season 6 and 7 so far :) [click on the image for the bigger view]

Can't wait for next Saturday now :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor Who ~ "The Snowmen" [Ep.7.06]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hello everyone,

I've been busy launching my own Black Beetle mini - NO WAY OUT - at Dark Horse (have you picked up #0 and #1 yet? It's sold out at distributor level so grab a copy if you haven't yet and you spot one in your store) so I neglected a little this blog, but - thanks to the Doctor - I am now back to it! :)

Finally got around (thanks to BBC America re-airing it last night) watching the Xmas special episode of Doctor Who which I missed while I was in Italy for the holidays.
So, a month later, here's my episode poster for THE SNOWMEN :)
Really enjoyed the story, and I gotta say having Sir Ian McKellen voicing GI was the cherry on top.
Highlights: the dickensian look of the Doctor (that hat!), the new TARDIS design and the new, very cute, companion.

Below you can see my 5 min pencil sketch I did while watching the show.

Can't wait for the new episodes to air: hurry up, BBC! :)

Hope you guys dig the new poster.

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor Who ~ "The Angels Take Manhattan" [Ep.7.05]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

And here it is, my poster for tonight's mid-season finale of DOCTOR WHO, "The Angels Take Manhattan", aired on BBC America.
I am not gonna add too much cause I don't want to spoiler the episode for those of you who haven't seen it yet, but it was a REALLY GOOD one.
And the Weeping Angels are some of the scariest thing I have seen on all WHO (and not WHO) seasons.

It's gonna be tough waiting for when the new episodes air in late December...

As always, hope you enjoyed this and please leave me a note if you did :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor WHO ³ ~ "The Power Of Three" [Ep.7.04]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hi guys,

As promised, here's my minimalist poster for the new Doctor Who's episode "The Power of Three" aired tonight on BBC America.
This was one of my favorite WHO episodes in recent history: really cool concept, spooky cubes, and without getting in any spoilers, it had something that reminded me of Twilight Zone, and even if the whole episode was Twilight-Zone-y, I am referring to a specific TZ episode. Extra points to who guesses which episode :)

As usual, I am also posting the pencils (below) - done while watching the episode - for the poster.

Hope you guys enjoyed the episode as well and dig the poster :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor Who ~ "A Town Called Mercy" [Ep.7.03]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hi guys,

As promised, here's my minimalist poster for the new Doctor Who's episode "A Town Called Mercy" aired last night on BBC America.
And - as usual - I am posting also the pencils (below) for the poster done while watching the episode.
I did 2 sketches for this one: the one that you see here and another cool imagery for the episode. Maybe I will ink it later, when the season goes in hiatus for the winter break, yes?

And to keep it in the WHO spirit, yesterday I received my comps of the cover (and cover sketch) I did for IDW's Doctor WHo/ Star Trek TNG crossover ASSIMILATION 2 miniseries. Check out the picture below: hopefully you guys have been picking up this books as well.

Asl always, pls let me hear from ya :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor Who ~ "Dinosaurs On A Spaceship" [Ep.7.02]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hi guys,

A little late 'cause I was at the Baltimore Convention this past weekend and away from my TV and drawing board, but here's my minimalist poster for Doctor Who's episode "Dinosaurs On A Spaceship" aired last Saturday on BBC America.
Hope you guys dig it and enjoyed the show :)

Below the pencils for the poster done while watching the episode.

Tune in tomorrow night for the next poster/episode :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Doctor Who ~ "Asylum of the Daleks" [Ep.7.01]

(click on the above image for the larger poster view)

Hi guys,

IT BEGINS! :)

Season 7 of Doctor Who premiered tonight on BBC America with "Asylum of the Daleks" and -as what is now a tradition ;) - I sketched a quick spoiler-free poster for the episode while watching it and inked it right after. Above is the result (and below the pencil sketch). As usual I try to keep it quick and below the 15/20 minutes mark :)
Also: I will never get tired to draw DALEKS, they are so much fun :)

Hope you guys dig it, and pls leave a note if you do: love to hear from ya :)

Cheers,
Francesco
