Hello everyone, 
DOCTOR WHO is back! YAY!

Here's the poster I did last night right after watching THE BELLS OF SAINT JOHN. As usual I tried to keep it as much spoiler-free as I could :)
And I think it's not a spoiler if I say the new Companion, CLARA, might be the cutest one yet ;)

Also, the wi-fi name that appear at the beginning of the episodes was looking kinda familiar, so I moved the symbols around a bit and it looks to me like the name was the anagram for MOFFAT: am I seeing too much here? ;)

And - in preparation of the new episodes - I put together this little WHOmnibus compilation of the posters for Season 6 and 7 so far :) [click on the image for the bigger view]

ECCC 2013 Sketches & Panel info

Emerald City Comic Convention - Seattle March 1-3 2013

I'm so excited to be invited back to this beautiful city and show. A lot of people have asked me about my sketch availability and rates, so here's how I plan to handle that (subject to change if needed).

Signings
I will sign books and prints (and thank you for supporting me by buying my stuff)! If you have a lot of books and there's a long line, I may ask you to let me do it in batches just to be considerate to others. This year, I'm joining HERO INITIATIVE's goal to raise some money for their charity. I will have a tip jar at my table and will be very happy if you make a donation (even of 1 dollar) to Hero as a thanks for signing your books. I might also set up some specific time for the signatures if needed, but for STOP&CHAT and handshakes, pls feel free to stop anytime, as long I am at the table ;)

Convention Sketches
Yes, I will be doing sketches at the show. I can't do any sketching prior to the show due to deadlines.
The sketches will be 9x12 Bristol, single-figure, some background, done with pencils, inks and probably washes.
My prices are: Head/Bust - $100; Full-Figure $250.
I try to do a few of these per day. It's done first-come, first-serve, so just come see me early to get on the list. I will do a new list every day. I take cash or credit card (assuming this new iPad gizmo works).
Below is a sample of a 9x12 full figure, fully inked sketch.



Prints & Books: I'm flying so I won't have a large variety of prints with me. I'll definitely have some Black Beetle, Poe, Lovecraft, and USRA prints. I'll also have a limited quantity of my sketchbooks (Chiaroscuro Vol.1 & Schermoscuro Vol.1).
Sketchbooks are $20 each and they come with a quick small sketch inside.

#1 Double Feature: LOST VEGAS & UNCANNY X-MEN

Hi guys,

I wanted to share a couple of recent variant covers I have done.
The first is for my dear friend Jim McCann's and Janet Lee's new series at Image titled LOST VEGAS. The pre-order for the book ends tomorrow so if you want to jump on this new sci-fi cool series make sure to call your shop and let them save you a copy. My variant is a 1:10 incentive cover.

The second cover is for the first issue of UNCANNY X-MEN (that MARVEL is releasing in February) and as far as I know it will be used as regular cover for the book for the Hastings chain of shops. It's probably available online as well (not 100% sure though).

Doctor Who ~ "The Snowmen" [Ep.7.06]

Hello everyone,

I've been busy launching my own Black Beetle mini - NO WAY OUT - at Dark Horse (have you picked up #0 and #1 yet? It's sold out at distributor level so grab a copy if you haven't yet and you spot one in your store) so I neglected a little this blog, but - thanks to the Doctor - I am now back to it! :)

Finally got around (thanks to BBC America re-airing it last night) watching the Xmas special episode of Doctor Who which I missed while I was in Italy for the holidays.
So, a month later, here's my episode poster for THE SNOWMEN :)
Really enjoyed the story, and I gotta say having Sir Ian McKellen voicing GI was the cherry on top.
Highlights: the dickensian look of the Doctor (that hat!), the new TARDIS design and the new, very cute, companion.

Below you can see my 5 min pencil sketch I did while watching the show.

Can't wait for the new episodes to air: hurry up, BBC! :)

Doctor Who ~ "The Angels Take Manhattan" [Ep.7.05]

And here it is, my poster for tonight's mid-season finale of DOCTOR WHO, "The Angels Take Manhattan", aired on BBC America.
I am not gonna add too much cause I don't want to spoiler the episode for those of you who haven't seen it yet, but it was a REALLY GOOD one.
And the Weeping Angels are some of the scariest thing I have seen on all WHO (and not WHO) seasons.

It's gonna be tough waiting for when the new episodes air in late December...

Doctor WHO ³ ~ "The Power Of Three" [Ep.7.04]

Hi guys,

As promised, here's my minimalist poster for the new Doctor Who's episode "The Power of Three" aired tonight on BBC America.
This was one of my favorite WHO episodes in recent history: really cool concept, spooky cubes, and without getting in any spoilers, it had something that reminded me of Twilight Zone, and even if the whole episode was Twilight-Zone-y, I am referring to a specific TZ episode. Extra points to who guesses which episode :)

As usual, I am also posting the pencils (below) - done while watching the episode - for the poster.

Doctor Who ~ "A Town Called Mercy" [Ep.7.03]

Hi guys,

As promised, here's my minimalist poster for the new Doctor Who's episode "A Town Called Mercy" aired last night on BBC America.
And - as usual - I am posting also the pencils (below) for the poster done while watching the episode.
I did 2 sketches for this one: the one that you see here and another cool imagery for the episode. Maybe I will ink it later, when the season goes in hiatus for the winter break, yes? 

And to keep it in the WHO spirit, yesterday I received my comps of the cover (and cover sketch) I did for IDW's Doctor WHo/ Star Trek TNG crossover ASSIMILATION 2 miniseries. Check out the picture below: hopefully you guys have been picking up this books as well.

Hey guys,

the first issue of a new Captain AMerica mini I am drawing is coming out today in the stores all over the Country. It's CAPTAIN AMERICA and BLACK WIDOW #636, and it's written by my dear friend Cullen Bunn and illustrated and colored by yours truly.
You can check the large 7-pages preview above (click on the image for larger view) and hopefully decide to pick up the book in the stores.

Here some things to know about this issue:
• It's a good jump-on point/issue - it's fully enjoyable even if you haven't read previous issues

IT BEGINS! :)

Season 7 of Doctor Who premiered tonight on BBC America with "Asylum of the Daleks" and -as what is now a tradition ;) - I sketched a quick spoiler-free poster for the episode while watching it and inked it right after. Above is the result (and below the pencil sketch). As usual I try to keep it quick and below the 15/20 minutes mark :)
Also: I will never get tired to draw DALEKS, they are so much fun :)

Hey guys,

As promised, here more minimalist posters for BReaking BAd Season 2, specifically for episodes 2.08 (BETTER CALL SAUL), 2.09 (4 DAYS OUT) and 2.10 (OVER).
Keep the feedback coming so I can unlock the next 3 and wrap up Season 2 :)

Regarding the CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON AP prints, things are still in the work but no worries, once I figure it out I will give plenty of notice so everybody will have a chance to get one of those limited run of 20 prints.
